It's officially official...

We Have An Official Assignment

The journey has been long and it is just starting! After a year of fasting, praying, interviews, visits, and screening we have an official assignment. We are going to be serving in Christchurch, New Zealand at Canterbury University. So when are we going? That is the question of the moment. We would love to give you an exact date, but the answer is not that easy. We will get to go when we are 100% funded in both our monthly support and our relocation costs. What are we doing right now? We are fund raising and training. Please pray with us that we would be 100% funded before the end of the year. It would be ideal to be there before January which is when school starts in new Zealand.

DID YOU KNOW?

*Less then 10% of people in New Zealand are Christians.

*The majority of Christians in New Zealand are over the age of 65.

*The fastest growing religion in New Zealand is NO RELIGION.

*The drinking age in New Zealand is 18 which has caused a lot of binge drinking in college.

*Prostitution is legal in New Zealand.

*These are just some of the challenges these students are facing everyday!

Would you consider praying and asking God if He would desire for you to be able to support us financially? We are in need of new monthly supporters, yearly gifts, one time gifts for our out going costs, and prayer partners. We would count it a privilege to have you be a part of our team. Please feel free to contact us with any questions or prayer requests.

A Visit to Mexico

We were blessed by Bryan's brother and his wife to stay in their condo in San Carlos, Mexico for a vacation. While we were there we were able to visit a local orphange King's Kids run by a missionary couple. It was such a blessing to get to play with the kids, bring some supplies, and visit with some of the staff. It is a wonderful ministry. If you are ever in San Carlos you should look into stopping by.

Of course we also got to spend lots of time on the beach and the pool. It was a wonderful time to be with eachother and forget about everything for just a week!

Update on All Things!

First of all I want to give you a link to an article about the Supreme Court Case. They have not made a ruling yet so keep praying. http://chronicle.com/article/Supreme-Court-Appears-Split/65169

What happening with us? While we have been able to meet with many people to share about New Zealand and the ministry there. We are getting ready to go to Colorado to go through our last stage of interviews and counseling on May 27 and 28. Please remember to pray for us on those dates and for God's wisdom. We are also looking forward to a little vacation for our family. In the middle of May we were blessed with a Condo to stay at in San Carlos, Mexico. This is one of our favorite places. We are really excited about going because we found a Christian Orpahange called King's Kids that we are going to visit and also deliver some diapers that they are in need of. Thank you so much to all of you who pray for us!

PRAY

We received the following message from The Navigators and wanted to pass it on to you to pray for this important issue and that God would start to work in the hearts of the Supreme Court.

On April 19th, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear arguments to decide whether groups like The Navigators, InterVarsity, Campus Crusade and others can be removed from college campuses because they require their officers and voting members to share their core religious commitments. According to some universities these core religious beliefs violate their affirmative action policy.
Seventeen organizations and 13 state attorney generals are working together on this case. Pray for the justices to rule on the side of religious freedom. For more information on how to pray, go to http://www.intervarsity.org/news/campus-faith-freedom-alert This case has far reaching implications for religious freedom in all areas.

Levi Turns 2

This post is a little late, but better late then never! My baby turned two on Feburary 20th. I can hardly believe it. He is as busy as ever. He LOVES trains, juice, and anything his older brothers are doing. We were going to go to the zoo for his birthday, but it was a very rainy day. So we moved on to plan B, Peter Piper Pizza. Pizza and games is always good! He had a great time playing with his cousin Molly, his friends, and brothers. Of course we did have some tears which is to be expected at a two year old birthday party. One of my favorites was how sad Landon was while Levi was opening his gifts. He did not understand why they were Levi's and not his! Too cute! (PS: Pause the music ipod located on the right to hear the video)

Easter 2010

This Easter we were able to spend it in Tucson with both of our parents.  We started the day off at church and then headed to the Haines house for an egg hunt, good food, and time with family!
