Will Logan be a Famous Baseball Player….

Well…. I will let you decide! Let me give you all the facts and plays of Logan’s 5-year-old T-ball season so you can make a fair judgment! It started off great! We got our new glove and met our coach. We had a couple practices and then got our shirts, hats, and team name. We were the Diamond Backs and that made Logan very happy. Then the games started and let’s just say Logan must not of heard that they were suppose to play ball during a game instead he enjoyed quacking like a duck on the field with his teammate. I wanted to die of embarrassment, but we knicked that one in the butt, by taking him to his 12 year old cousin's (Jared) game to show him baseplayers DON'T QUACK. To replace quacking Logan decided to look at grass, wave to us, and give us the an occasional thumbs up (which meant he was not quacking or sitting down). Now here is my favorite part. Being the competitive parents that we all can be, Bryan and I were yelling at the top of our Lungs, “Logan get the ball, run for the ball.” Well if you don’t know Logan he is a very literal person and the coach had told the kids they were to stay in their assigned spots and not all run for the ball at the same time. Make sense, right? Well Logan took that literally, unless the ball rolled directly to him, he would not get it. He had to stay in his assigned spot. So back to Bryan and I yelling at him to get the ball. Logan got so tired of listening to us that he came over during the game and said, “Mom, stop! Coach said we have to stay in our assigned spots, so I cannot run for the ball. Please stop yelling for me to do that!” Enough said…coach knows best. Now Logan did very well at hitting the ball and running the bases. It is a good thing everybody wins in T-ball.

So what do you think? Will Logan be a Famous Baseball Player?

Meet the Eagle's Nest 2009 Staff

We could not run camp without our wonderful staff. So I would like to introduce to this years staff!

It would be an understatement if I said that this years staff are all individuals!!!! They are very unique and each have their own personality, but together they make for a great camp for the kiddos who love them to death!

Melissa, is here for a second year. She is from Texas and sweet as a button. We love her and find it a privlage that she came back this summer! She has taken the role of Girls PC. This is a person who helps with the behind the scenes running of camp and is the go between Bryan and the counselors. She has done an awesome job!

John, is also here for a second year! He has practically grown up at Eagle Lake, being a camper and on Crew. We are so lucky to have him here at Day Camp. John is a calm and takes on situations and it comes. He is our Guys PC and doing an amazing job. He is ready to do any job wether it is to refil the water cooler or takes kids out on a bike ride. He has a great attitude and is a polite southerner!

Jacob is also here for second year. It has been to awesome to watch Jacob grow from last summer to this summer. He is amazing with the kids and they love him. He is one of those guys that is not afraid to ask the kids the hard questions which is a great to have in a counselor. It has been a blessing to us and the kids to have Jacob at camp again this summer.

Jess is new to Eagle's Nest this year. She is full of energy and the kids love that. She has done a great job working with the girls. Jess is from Alabama and is pure crazy, but we love her!

Jesse is also new this year to Eagle's Nest. He has been a great counselor! He is up for anything and always willing to jump in and help. Jesse is from New Hamshire and has brought good impressions of the East to the West!

Lauren comes to Eagle's Nest this year from Texas, but grew up in Brazil. Lauren has brought her unique life situation to the group. She is sweet and has a strong desire to contect with everyone, the kids and the adults. She is a great new addition to the Eagle's Nest Family!

Clarissa joined the team for the fisrt time this year. She is quiet and thoughtful. She has done an excellent job with the kids. I have enjoyed seeing Clarissa come out of your shell as the summer has continued!

Seth is also a first time counselor at Eagle's Nest this year. He is easy going and always up to join the group. He always has a great attitude which makes him very easy to work with. The kids love him and we are lucky to have him!

Monique! I can't say enough about her. Monique's 3 kids all come to camp and Monique volunteers everyweek with us as our EMT. She is an amazing person. She is there not only for the kids, but also for the counselors. We aer so grateful and God put Monique and her family in our lives!

I thank God that he brought each of these to us this year. I pray that they would take hold of these last weeks at Day Camp and cherish them. I pray that they will be able to take what they have learned this summer into the their everyday lifes and continue to grow and teach others about Christ!
