Our friend Lydia was kind enough to take us to her home town and the A&P Show which is kind of like a county fair. It was a cold day but the kids had fun!Levi and a choo choo tractor

Hector Dolphins

Next up on the adventure with Gramma Jeanne and Poppies were the Hector Dolphins! Levi and Landon had been waiting since they got here to go on a boat and now the time was here. We piled in the car and off we went to Akaroa (a small harbor town near us) to see the Hector Dolphins. It was really special to get to see these dolphins because they are very rare and only live off the coast of New Zealand. There are about 8000 of these dolphins in total. They are smaller then most dolphins and don't travel in big of groups. The boat we went us was really neat because they have a little dog, Murphy (Murf Murf). He is so cute. He wears a little life jacket and knows when the dolphins will come up so if Murf Murf runs to the side of the boat you know the dolphins will be there shortly! It was such an awesome experience and even more special to do it with my parents!
PS: For all of you that don't know I (Erin) love, love, love dolphins!!!!!

God of This City remix - Christchurch, NZ

God of This City - EQ Remix 2011 from rechurch on Vimeo.

This is a video a friend of mine gave us permission to use. It illustrates a bit of the heart of what life in Christchurch was like and is like now.
Thought you might appreciate viewing it.
We would be encouraged by your prayers as you think of the ministry work in NZ.

Boys and a Jet Boat

Now it was the boys turn to have a day off. So Poppies, Bryan, and Logan headed off to go on a jet boat. These boats are unique to New Zealand and are super fun as they go fast and do 360 turns! Let's just say they came home wet and with smiles on their faces!

Off to Oamaru

We went off for the night to Oamaru which is about 3 hours south of us. In Oamaru you can see both the Yellow Eyed Penguins and the Blue Penguins. The Yellow Eyed Penguins come up one at a time and you can spot them from an outlook point. The Blue Penguins come in groups but due to scaring the penguins you cannot take pictures. It was really amazing though. We saw about 120 Blue Penguins and some came right in front of you.
While in Oamaru we also go to go see the Moeraki Boulders and Elephant Rock...both really cool!
